Itinerary:

A fully guided, pack free 4-day walking tour – 55 km walking (approx.)

DAY 1: On the way to the north-east coast we pass through Lilydale and the Pipers River wine region, then on to Mt William National Park, and Cape Naturaliste – the most northern point of our four-day wander. Your walk commences with some easy beach walking before you tackle a one-hour return walk to the summit of Wukalina/Mt William. 12km, 4.5 hours – easy to moderate grade

DAY 2: Today we start at Boulder Point at the far end of Stumpy’s Bay and continue south along a lovely stretch of coastline to Cod Bay, one of the more remote sections of our walk. Keep a sharp eye out for Wombats, Black Swans, and Tasmanian Native Hens, At Deep creek, we stop for a quick dip and chance to conquer the prominent rock formation of Picnic Rocks. 14km, 5 – 6 hours – moderate grade

DAY 3: We start our day at Larapuna/Eddystone Point – adorned with its beautifully grand lighthouse, built in 1889 before we break out onto an expansive dune swept beach, often teeming with birdlife. We then have a chance to explore endless coves and small bays for swimming before we finish our day at Ansons Bay. 10km, 4 – 5 hours – moderate grade

DAY 4: Today’s hike is an interesting mix of changing landscapes within the Bay of Fires Conservation Area with a chance to spot pelicans, cormorants and oystercatchers. We pass granite headlands before stopping for one last refreshing swim. Passing over a forested hill we reach The Gardens – the destination of our trip, before returning to Launceston via the lovely sea-side town of St Helens. 14km, 5 hours – moderate/hard grade.
